Nine Mile Lake
Nine Mile Lake Paddling
The Nine Mile Lake area is one of the few remaining undeveloped wilderness areas in Muskoka. It offers the kind of solitude and adventure that can normally only be found further north. Located within the 100+ square kilometre Severn River Conservation Reserve, this is a great area for wildlife viewing.
The only access point for these lakes is the 9 Mile Lake Marina which charges a daily parking fee.
Nine Mile Lake Camping
Other than a few dozen cottage properties in the southern bays of Nine Mile Lake, all the shoreline in this area is crown land and open for camping. Though there are some established backcountry campsites, there is no reservation system and all campsites are first-come first-served. As this is a conservation reserve, everything must be packed in and out, and always follow Leave No Trace principles. To review crown land and private property boundaries in the area, refer to the Ontario Crown Land Atlas here: Ontario Crown Land Atlas
